Comcast doubling rates
Mar. 29th, 2004 10:17 amRumor and FC have it that Comcast is sending out letters to to the 200,000+ customers acquired with the AT&T Broadband acquisition, informing said customers that Comcast is doubling rates for high-speed Internet.
Sounds pretty bad.
That's what happens when you take statements out of context. The "rates" are download rates. Comcast is in the process of increasing download rates from ~150Kbps to ~300Kbps, or has finished the necessary upgrades. The letters are notices of the upgrades and that it requires resetting the cablemodem to sync to the new signals.
