Last week's Halo Moment duJour:

I was working my way down through the rampwell (it's like a stairwell but with ramps) into the Silent Cartographer. On a landing below me were a squad of Grunts and an Elite. So, I dropped a plasma grenade on them. The usual reaction ensued. The Grunts ran around, screaming in their helium voices, and the Elite dives away from the grenade to avoid the blast...
... off the landing...
... into the bottomless pit.
These are the guys that the game book describes as being capable of brilliant battlefield tactics.

This week's is better:

During my one-man assault on a Covenant ship, I reached an intersection guarded by a pair of Elites. They apparently did not notice me. So, I tossed a plasma grenade at their feet. Instead of diving away, the two Elites stood there, simultaneously looked at the grenade, each other, the grenade, each other. I imagine the conversation went something like, "Did you drop this?" "No. Did you?" "Uh, no. Where do you suppose it came from?" "I dunnow."

Then the grenade exploded.
